Between the Sheets

For the 'Filthy' Haiku challenge

By S. A. CrawfordPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I have to confess, I have an addition; when Jazzy Gonçalves releases a challenge, I run towards it. So, when she announced a 'filthy' haiku challenge I just had to give it a try.

I tend to steer clear of this topic (at least on Vocal), but I can't resist getting involved with this challenge... there's something irreverant and fun about taking such a delicate, elegant medium and turning it towards our 'base' instincts.

Of course, I'm much better at love poetry so I'm afraid this entry may be a little more saccharine than filthy.

***

I want to take you,

down and down to our clean sheets.

Where our skin can meet.

***

In the empty room,

I can worship you in peace.

And lose myself again.

***

You look so sweet here.

In silk and barely there lace,

I ache to taste you.

***

Chasing drops of sweat,

I finally reach heaven,

and God looks like you.

***

It's a pretty fuck.

Maybe that's all I can do,

You make me gentle.

***

This probably doesn't fit the brief word of 'filthy', but the truth is that I've never been overly good at explicit detail when it comes to this subject. Maybe it's the Church of Scotland upbringing or maybe I'm a gentle soul at heart, but when I wracked my brain for a sex-based series of Haiku this is what came to mind.

This was magnificent! Filthy is different for everyone but your version is so tasty, the word choice was sublime. The descriptions left me breathless. “Where our skin can meet” is such a powerful way of describing the dance between the sheets and “I ache to taste you” is SO sexy 🥵
