Between the Lines of Silence

Where unspoken words and quiet truths wait to be heard

By Fazal HadiPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

Between the Lines of Silence

there lives a world we rarely see—

a realm where whispers build the bridges

that loud voices cannot be.

It's in the pauses of a sentence,

the way the eyes look down and shy,

the half-formed thought, the held-back tears,

the trembling breath before goodbye.

Not every truth wears shoes of sound,

not every wound lets language in.

Some stories hide in folded hands,

some battles only start within.

I’ve learned that not all silence

means absence, cold, or lack of care.

Sometimes it’s how the heart survives

when no one else is really there.

It speaks in art, in sighs, in music,

in handwritten notes never sent.

It lives between the calls not made,

the kindnesses we never meant.

But oh—how loud a silence grows

when you begin to truly hear

the depth behind the quiet smile,

the scream tucked softly into fear.

Between the lines of silence lies

a field where empathy can grow.

Where listening becomes a gift,

and presence says what words don’t show.

So next time someone’s voice is still,

don’t rush to speak or fill the space.

Just sit with them. Just hold their hand.

Sometimes that’s the kindest grace.

For what we say is just the start—

the loudest truths may take no stance.

But read the silence line by line,

and give your soul the chance…

To understand what’s never said,

to love beyond the spoken part—

and find the wisdom tucked between

the quiet corners of the heart.
