Best Friend
Poem about a broken love story with Vodka.

Sad girl, why don’t you admit the truth?
Sad girl, there’s only one who knows you best.
Sad girl, everyone already sees the proof.
Sad girl, never will you pass the ultimate test.
Sad girl, your best friend is wild.
Sad girl, they make you dumb.
Sad girl, sometimes they’re mild.
Sad girl, other times they make you numb.
Sad girl, they’re here when you’re happy.
Sad girl, they take away the anxieties.
Sad girl, they are even there when you’re sloppy.
Sad girl, they always come in many varieties.
Sad girl, you both are great liars.
Sad girl, keep swaying your hips.
Sad girl, you are both risk takers.
Sad girl, it’s like holding a gun to your lips.
Sad girl, fill up another water battle.
Sad girl, another slam of the door.
Sad girl, drink another bottle.
Sad girl, ha, maybe your mama’s right and you are a whore.
Sad girl, but only your best friend knows.
Sad girl, so much that you hide.
Sad girl, you can only take so many blows.
Sad girl, they don’t know all the parts of you that have died.
Sad girl, don’t they understand?
Sad girl, you should have been banned.
Sad girl, it doesn’t matter where you stand.
Sad girl, because unless you change you’ll be like Bonnie and Clyde, you and Vodka will be together till the bitter end.
About the Creator
Savannaha Klein
Sadness never hides in the depths of your eyes. The Sad Girl series follows a true broken path of alcoholism, miscarriage, mental health, shattered relationships, and more. My work contains the brutal honesty that comes with all of it.
