Bleed

Poem about hiding mental health issues.

By Savannaha Klein Published 3 years ago 1 min read

Sad girl, you haven’t looked in a mirror in a long, long while.

Sad girl, what is it you’re hiding from?

Sad girl, all your clothes are in a pile.

Sad girl, could you feel anymore like scum?

Sad girl, put down the razor.

Sad girl, no, you can’t cut the fat off.

Sad girl, they only see your poor behavior.

Sad girl, asked for help, ha, now turn around and cough.

Sad girl, you fucked up again.

Sad girl, how did you handle the pain?

Sad girl, stop hiding behind your sin.

Sad girl, what does a blade help you gain?

Sad girl, listen to what they told you.

Sad girl, stop acting so shy.

Sad girl, God, they don’t know what you’ve gone through.

Sad girl, they don’t understand why you don’t cry.

Sad girl, Gods know you don’t pray often.

Sad girl, Russian Roulette with your heart

Sad girl, maybe it’s about time you took precaution.

Sad girl, if only you could be apart.

Sad girl, don’t focus on the numbers.

Sad girl, just throw the scale away.

Sad girl, all your confidence crumbles.

Sad girl, not everyone knows the way you play.

Sad girl, one thin slice of the knife.

Sad girl, now the water is turning red.

Sad girl, is it worth the sacrifice?

Sad girl, better not wind up dead.

Sad girl, the blade doesn’t hurt like a fist.

Sad girl, will you ever stop?

Sad girl, just one last metal kiss.

Sad girl, why don’t you see you won’t reach the top?

Sad girl, the temptations so strong.

Sad girl, you’re not hiding from anyone.

Sad girl, they’ve known all along.

Sad girl, for your life, you need to be done.

About the Creator

Savannaha Klein

Sadness never hides in the depths of your eyes. The Sad Girl series follows a true broken path of alcoholism, miscarriage, mental health, shattered relationships, and more. My work contains the brutal honesty that comes with all of it.
