Bending the Light
Being part of the human-prism connection
When tilted just right,
A transparent prism will bend the light,
Dispersing the full spectrum of colours to be seen,
Red, blue, yellow, violet, orange, and green.
Red for the moments the prism feels mad,
Blue for the moments the prism feels sad,
Yellow for the moments the prism feels glad,
The prism often feels emotions it never had.
When tilted just right,
A transparent prism will bend the light,
It takes situations from the beginning,
And converts them into something with feeling.
Violet for moments the prism is strong,
Orange for the moments the prism breaks into a song,
Green for the moments the prism knows it did something wrong,
Bottom line, the prism is just looking to belong.
And what better way for the prism to fit in,
Than to share all the colours that it had been given,
The colours that came to the prism as light,
But that it converted to something more, without a fight.
But sometimes the prism may feel it's not right,
And will tilt itself away from the light,
It knows it can’t bend all the light that exists,
It’s the light that it loves for which it persists.
