Belladonna of Sadness

I threw my head back, and screamed silently

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

I am the embodiment of death

I live in spring

But I deal with my death daily

In his brutal eyes

Of flaring menace.

Belladonna of Sadness,

Persephone of spring :

Kore of The Underworld,

Woman of the earth.

I lay in swallowed up black waters,

I am strangled by mankind’s

Anguish.

I am torn apart by my

will to thrive.

My heart breaks my body.

Belladonna of Sadness.

Woman of the earth.

I threw my head back violently

And screamed silently,

For every piece of torment

Mankind felt.

Belladonna of Sadness,

Woman of the earth.

Seeker of pain,

Seeker of truth,

Belladonna of Sadness,

Persephone of spring.

Kore of death.

You are me.

I am you.

Belladonna,

You cry for

The earth.
