Belief or Relief?

Poem by Marvel

By Marvelous MichaelPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I believe in Jesus, he says

I go to church, of course my faith is strong,

Yet many repeat these words without grasp,

Of the true cost and the song.

Sunday finds the church packed to its brim,

But how many hearts truly walk in Him?

Some leave unchanged, forgetting what they’ve heard,

Others’ fervor fades by Monday’s turn.

In the sanctuary's embrace, seeking solace's reprieve,

Do we find comfort but forget to truly believe?

Do we dwell so he rebukes the storm?

Has our love become a mere ritual norm?

Let’s test ourselves,

Do we truly know this God we proclaim?

How close are we, in our daily lives?

Jesus, our friend, yet do we pursue His ways,

Or do we merely speak His name?
