Being a Transcriptionist

Factual poem

By Mark GrahamPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

What does being a transcriptionist mean?

This is a job that some would think would be boring, but to me it wouldn't be.

Just think of the different subjects that one could learn while typing away.

I learned that there was such an area known as text to text transcription when signed on to volunteer at the Smithsonian.

Really I thought there was only two forms of this skill which was taking shorthand and listening to tapes on a dictaphone.

The text to text transcription is an area where one can read and transcribe historical documents that are handwritten and then typed. You can even transcribe books and other materials as well.

I applied to several companies online for this kind of position will fill in nicely when my other writing is being read and adding up.

Guessing this would be a form of copy typing, but being able to read handwritten material and typing them up for clearer reading and understanding makes it worth doing in my opinion.
