Behind the Green Door

Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 19

By Calvin LondonPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Knock, knock, who is there?

Who keeps knocking at my door?

Don't really care.

Can't you see I want to hide?

Leave me be locked safe inside.

\\\\\\\

[Author's note: A tanka poem (five stanzas with 5,7,5,7 and 7 syllables in each of the lines respectively. The poem itself expresses the desire, sometimes (especially for men), just to be left alone when they are stressed. It is often referred to as "going into your cave".

Till next time,

Calvin
