Bedazzled Dreams

Got Lost In Your Smokescreen

Soft steps on the pavement -

hard knocks - to go around.

Any chance you could have made it -

falls hard - like raindrops, smashing on the ground.

*

Ya get back up, cause it's whatcha gotta do -

sold out - the part - the tougher than ya thought, of you.

You can’t admit that you wish it was the way it was -

Cause if ya did, you’d have to stand up and be sorry, cause—

You gave it up, let it go, didn’t do the things you promised - so,

It's gone for good, ain’t coming back --

get used to less - cause it's something you will always lack.

*

You’re back to basic - bedazzled dreams.

You can’t even grasp what being loyal means.

You cast the blame - still won't admit -

everything out of your mouth is ......yeah
