Step One.

Be firm in your conviction.

This is not a place for wavering

or the feint of heart.

-

Step Two.

Denounce your identity.

Here, you don’t need a name

or even a face.

The idea is that you are nothing and no one.

--

Step Three.

Once you’ve entered the in-between space,

the best course of action is leave.

Pack your bags, but don’t leave a note

or wait to say good-bye.

This step is the most crucial for success.

---

Step Four.

Steal away in the middle of the night.

It isn’t necessary to wait until dark,

but it will make things easier.

If no one is around, you can make a cloak

out of the heavy weight of the shadows.

Be not afraid. You are alone.

----

Step Five.

Start over.

New name,

new clothes,

new face,

new location,

and new face.

All this to craft a new identity.

-----

Step Six.

Never.

Look.

Back.

------

Follow these simple six steps

and you will have the perfect recipe

to disappear…and begin anew.

Sometimes, disappearing is the only way

to become who

you’re truly supposed

to

be.
