A soothing phrase, a comforting cheat
It wraps around my heart, a warm embrace
A fleeting solace, a temporary space
It whispers sweet nothings, a gentle breeze
A calming melody, a peaceful squeeze
It numbs the pain, a temporary high
A beautiful lie, a passing sigh
But like a mirage, it vanishes in air
Leaving me dry, with nothing to spare
The truth creeps in, a harsh reality
A beautiful lie, a painful clarity
I'm left to face, the truth I've denied
And find my strength, in a heart that's tried.
And learn to love, the beauty in the truth.
