Beat the Heat - A Summer Staycation
Mindfulness Poetry
Sun burning bright.
Clock striking twelve.
I find myself free.
Thinking of what to do next.
Outdoors is a no.
Indoors is a yes.
A wheel of activity is made.
Giving it a spin, a choice is made.
Whew! That was hard.
The heat didn't help.
Going for a refreshing drink.
The water didn't help.
An orange comes to rescue.
A wonderful blend is created.
In a jug it goes.
The sun makes it sparkle.
Popping open the fridge.
Taking out the tray.
Smashing it on the counter.
Click-clack separates the cubes.
The wonderful blend gets an icy twist.
Topped with cubes of orange jelly.
A stir is all what it needs.
The perfect blend for the day is made.
With the jug in hand and a glass in another.
Living room is the destination.
The jug is placed on the table.
The CD is placed in the CD drive.
A movie begans to play.
As I apply cream olay.
To protect the skin from incoming sunrays.
I become active in skincare.
Indulging in a bit of spa treatment.
I enjoy the ongoing movie.
Savoring the soothing cool blend.
The curtain fails to hold the sunrays.
The room is glowing with golden rays.
The A.C cools the room.
The face mask hydrates the skin.
So I ignore the sun and enjoy the time.

Chilled Drinks & Cloud Shapes - Relaxing with Family
The drifting cloud tells the story. An inner child awakens. And imagination runs wild. It is a sunny day and I'm hanging around with my lovely sister-in-law. It has been a while since we last met. It is nice to take a break from busy life for friends and family - so here I am. Deciding against going out in this temperature we planned on hanging around in the backyard by the pool surrounded by nature with chilled drinks.
