BEAN SIDHE

a poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Within the mist

Her somber steps

Silent fall

Where’er she go

Grim tidings trail

Mournful call

Fairy or ghost

From mound or grave

Matters not

Ancient or young

Fate is the same

Bitter lot

I saw her once

Long silver hair

Shifting red

Her countenance

Melancholy

Nothing said

Tonight I hear

Silence breaking

Howling song

But I won’t fear

Her shrieking cry

My time’s done
