You step into the light,

yet you are not here.

You step into our sight,

look not to that which you fear.

Eyes up and to the front,

always looking to what's next.

Plans of work and fun,

thoughts of days that were best.

Searching high and low, for what you don't know,

your eyes on the horizon.

Never realizing the reason the game is slow,

never realizing what needs to be done.

In years you are mature,

though some things never change.

Wandering through the world unsure,

wondering if life will ever be the same.

Wishing for some better tomorrow and

distracted by the past.

Mistakes that you've made haunt you,

mistakes not the last.

Futures are the mystery,

the mystery unseen.

For the solutions to your misery,

rest where you're at, your feet.

Always to the horizon you look,

when you never pay the right attention.

Look to the here and now,

if you seek direction.
