Be careful and look both ways

before you cross my mind....

By Melanie MundaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Be careful and look both ways before you cross my mind, because I can’t stop you once you’ve set foot into my heart. It’s not as easy to leave, as it is to enter. Or maybe it is.... for you.

I can’t stop you from falling for me; my heart is lonely sometimes and needs the distraction. I can’t guarantee that I will be able to love you back, no liability insurance would cover the time invested in me. But.... accidents happen right?

Don’t be running through my mind like you own the place, because there is a good chance I may lose my ownership to you. I don’t need anyone clearing the thorns I strategically placed to choke out any chance at love. I’ve grown too accustomed to how it looks, and there is no telling what will happen if my Eden comes to life.

Look both ways because it’s not always safe to cross. If I crash into you it might be too much for you to take. If I didn’t see you coming, we might both not make it. You may be closer than you appear....

So please look left (me alone) then right (one for me) then left (me alone) again, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.
