Be Bold, Be Brave, and Be Yourselves!

Dear Black children,

remember

to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

There are no others

like yourselves,

so create your own sunshine

with heaps of light,

rays,

and warmth.

Dear Black women,

remember

to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

No one else

can shine

as bright as yourselves,

so become the stars

that people can search for.

Dear Black men,

remember to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

No one’s

as heroic as you are,

so stand tall,

and don’t shy away

from the amazing world we’re in!

Dear Black creators,

remember

to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

When you create,

you teach,

you empower,

you inspire,

and you leave a huge, thick mark

on this planet.

Dear Black healthcare workers,

remember

to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

To preserve our community

and our land,

we need your support

and protection

from all ailments and casualties.

We cannot survive

without your endless care

and assistance.

Dear Black teachers,

remember

to be bold,

to be brave,

and to be yourselves.

Our kids

are becoming lifelong learners,

budding teachers,

emerging scientists,

young artists,

junior businesspeople,

little mathematicians,

talented writers,

exceptional athletes,

and marvellous musicians,

because of you!

Thank you

for being a part

of our existence.

We’re constantly being enlightened,

because of the life lessons

you’re sharing with us.

Be bold,

be brave,

and be yourselves.
