Barissiz Noel
(Turkish for Christmas without Peace)

Snowflakes fall gently outside my windowpane,
A lonely Christmas Eve, heart filled with rain.
Thoughts of you linger, a bittersweet refrain,
longing to share the night with you again.
--
Tree lights twinkle faintly, a solo serenade,
echoing the laughter we once made,
but now in this room so silently displayed.
Warmer nights hold memories, both bittersweet and bright.
But here there is no Christmas magic without your light.
--
Sometime in the night, the snowflakes ceased to fall
I, wrapped in my blanket, am oblivious to winter's stall.
I dream of you and the children, unbeknownst of the time
as the Christmas Bells begin their morning ritual chime.
--
Frosty winds whisper secrets, of moments we'd shared
If only a Christmas miracle, would bring you to me here.
In dreams, I see your smile, beneath mistletoe's gentle sway
But dawn breaks, and I'm alone, on this Christmas day.

Oh, this is so beautiful and sad. My Christmas wish for you or your poem's character is to have someone to celebrate it with, Sam.
