Attraction from across the counter

A flash of smile,

A touch of fear,

From perfection, I stand so near.

Wandering eyes,

Hiding emotion,

Is acting on it an option?

So much desire,

So much uncertainty,

I could admire for an eternity.

We speak of magic,

We speak of power,

The hold of this precious flower.

Her every word - alive,

Her actions dazzle,

The counter between us, the only puzzle.

Why should we stop?

Go back to our lives?

The time to separate arrives.

Will I see her again?

The girl from the bank,

I don’t know how high I rank.

She’s got her priorities,

I’ve got mine,

There’s more than love on the line.

Someday I’ll gamble,

For now we are strangers,

Spared from true love’s dangers.

I’ll end it here,

Love at first sight,

I walk away, my day looking bright.
