I woke up one morning
And put on my shoes
I went downstairs
To turn on the news.
I put on my backpack
And walked out the door.
There's no turning back now
The summer's no more.
I walked into school
And took off my coat.
Then my locker was slammed
And I jumped like a goat.
I thought it was over
And I tried to act cool.
But then my pants ripped
As I walked out of school.
I ran all the way home
To hide from the day.
But it followed me there
And made my life grey.
This day is over
Thank goodness for that.
It's a day in my life
I can never get back.
