I WAS at work.

I WAS trying.

Didn't matter that my head was on fire and I felt like I was dying.

I WAS doing my best.

I WAS pushing myself.

But I can't make things happen at the expense of my health.

This 9 to 5

Way of life

Is not all it's cracked up to be

Is this what we're meant to be

We try and try

Just to survive

It's not all it's cracked up to be

It's not what we're supposed to be

We USED to dream

We USED to dare

Back before the world kicked us and told us it didn't care

What WE wanted to be

What WE were meant to be

Doesn't mean shit to them because the profit of our work even as we bleed

I WAS at work

I WAS trying

Didn't matter that my head was on fire and I felt like I was dying.

I WAS doing my best.

I WAS pushing myself.

But I can't make things happen at the expense of my health.

What CAN I do

What SHOULD I do

When all these bills keep piling up and they tell me this is no excuse

We CAN'T live like this

We WEREN'T meant for this

Let's go back to day dreams and living, let's go back to when we were kids.
