Baby Sees Spring

When the baby saw spring outdoor for the first time

Fresh spring morning,

baby ventures out,

clinging to mama’s bosom—

Golden sunshine everywhere,

freshness in each breath.

Palm fronds shimmer,

against the blue sky,

birds chatter in the olive tree,

Citrus blooms perfume the air,

Indian hawthorn shrubs,

sport cascades of pink blossoms.

Bees buzz, gathering nectar,

from the purple African daisies.

A hummingbird hovers,

by the cape honeysuckle,

flashing it's pink throat,

and emerald plumage.

After being cooped in the house,

all long, cold winter,

the baby is out in the sun,

soaking it's divine warmth,

on her diapered, soft body.

Happiness lingers on her face,

and she lets out

squeals and coos of joy.

Note: It's the first day the premature baby soaks sun in the spring. The lockdown was about to be imposed.
