I spent years begging a person I loved to just talk to me, work through issues together, tell me what was wrong,

only to be met with anger, a slammed door, a drunken return,

so excuse me if I spend the rest of my life in awe of you and us,

how easy it is to have a simple discussion, how conflict never leads to arguments,

how we hold each other through it all,

facing every challenge with fingers too interlaced to be pointed with blame.

love poems

So short and simple yet I was there with you feeling what you felt

This is such a tender and powerful reflection. It’s beautiful how you’ve captured what healthy love should feel like.

I love that last line about fingers being to interlaced to point. Great job, and I'm happy for you that you found a better relationship. 💜
