Away

For those of you wishing you were outside on a beautiful day.

Although I know I can not go

to the place I have been before.

I silently sit and ponder

of going there to the peace it offered.

Wide green lakes and narrow streams,

forrests surrounding the view from my eyes.

Quiet birds do sing and chirp,

while the loons "show-off" their splendor.

The call of the wild calls to me.

The peace of simplicity.

Deep in the woods, out of man's sight,

I am all alone to my own delight.

The leaves that are purple, orange and red,

fall from the trees like snow from the sky.

The animals wander in search of food,

Coming nearer then scampering away.

The sounds of the forrest haunt me;

I do wish I could stay.

But, life does pass around me

I can't let this day get away.
