For Poppy's Prompts #7: Parallel

There is the feeling that I

enter into conversations the same

as how I parallel park. An initial excitement:

an opening I can wedge into. Anticipation

as I near my point, my place.

Then hesitation. Two are already here, their

spaces occupied. I would have to be

in the middle, would have to

interrupt while I fumbled through

false starts, jumping too far ahead

then approaching at too odd

an angle. I mustn't. So

I continue on in search

of a stress-less spot

in which I can stay

even if it is further away

from where I wish to be.
