Autumnal Aromatherapy
Between here and there- grief and uncertainty
Counting my blessings amid my grief feels like a chore
much like raking these leaves
earth fallen blades, stick it to me vibes
crumpled, scattered mustard leading browns
leave no spicy response
only a teardrop and the usual blahs
Mid-Drag- a rake entanglement
one crimson stipule
pierced by metal proddings
stimulates wood-burning afterthoughts
freshly stacked logs
sandalwood, sage, and saffron incense
s'mores and campfires
hand-knit cardigans
wrapped waist length, snug and heartfelt
apple cider and beer belly Saturdays
football fanatics, farmers' market
and our darker than fair feline friends
Ghosted-
goblins, ghouls, and other fools
are posted up for spooky entertainment
shiver me timbers, vibes and all
yet laughter and wide-eyed grins take first prize
lies, what lies ahead
I don't know...
preseasonal sensation, a sachet of autumnal delight
a lift me up from a leaf
therapy found in induced aromatic moments
stretches my senses beyond this grief

I always loved the transitions from one season to the next, when Mother Nature sheds the old and brings in the new, whether that be spring, summer, autumn, or winter. I honestly can't wait for fall. It's my favorite!
I know that feeling all too well. I get hit by it at the most random times and I wouldn't even know why. Loved your poem!
