As a child, I spent everyday in outdoor play, and was in awe of nature's gifts,
Every plant and creature had different features, some had colours that shift,
The brilliant views kept me bemused, as I'd oft go for long walks with my mother,
Of all the seasons, not as many as pleasing as the one that came after summer,
Greens greet change on plains abound, some stay the same and others frown,
Some boughs shake and drop their gowns, and umber fields prepare for ploughs,
Skies so crisp and azure blue, bring delicate winds that whisper through,
The trees that blush, at apricot dusk, become naked in sacred renew,
I danced in circles beneath the leaves and never caught them all,
My favourite colours sprawl in a flurry every autumn's fall.
