Autumn Ensnared

…..

By Andrew C McDonaldPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Winter crept up

Silently stalking

Unsuspecting prey

Set to pounce

Jagged teeth

Nipping

Biting wind

Freezing sap

Autumn shivered in dread

Knowing its demise was nigh

One last burst

Riotous colors

To stave off dead white

Hopeless

Trap set

Frozen

Jagged edges

Icy cage

I like this, the staccato sense of rhythm works really well.
