Aura

(The colors of me)

By Judith Parrish BroadbentPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Aura

Today my aura is red:

A fiery ruby circles round

A shimmering glow ahead;

Sun rising without a sound.

For crimson roses bloom

Avoiding a noonday doom.

Then sunny yellow comes

With jonquils and daffodils.

The bees and birds share hums

Darting across the many frills

To rush to make sweet honey

That is a treat so bonnie.

They fly into the cooling green

That wraps around the vale.

An emerald snake so keen

Is hidden within a bale.

It speaks of freshness and new life,

But beware it also brings strife.

The air is filled with blue:

Asters, Chicory and periwinkles.

They come in many different hues.

After the rain, they twinkle.

Turquoise and sapphires in a band

Make lovely rings upon her hand.

Then night begins its purple fall;

Darkens from violet into mauve.

Night softens the edges for us all

Bringing calm like a suave.

A spectrum of color fills my days

And helps me continue through my ways.
