A Prayer to The Goddess of Wisdom
Harken to my entreaty, goddess fair
Deathless, wise, all-conquering Athena
Life without your blessing, I cannot bear
It is a bleak and vicious arena
You sprang from the brow of Zeus, gods’ father
Is my mortal mind fit to be a womb?
From you, wisdom flows like clean, fresh water
What will flow to me, as I near the tomb?
Tritogeneia they name you, maiden
For you came to be near Trio’s rich shore
Truths that from dim, foolish eyes lie hidden
Reveal to me, before I see no more
Grey-eyed queen of tumults and wars, bless me
While yet I breathe, let me your servant be

Getting Serious About Comedy (Part I)
If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.
