Above the James,

Is the Foundation of our Commonwealth,

The Capital Square in Richmond,

The lawn so green,

The building so large,

I look and take it in,

The bells chime,

With the change of time,

The roses bloom around the fountain,

Adding to the beauty,

People from all over,

Visit this wonderful part of Virginia,

The Fount and Heartbeat of our Commonwealth,

The James is feet away,

I don't want to leave,

I want to stay,

Walking the tree line in the spring sun,

A beautiful day,

Has just begun,

The air crisp,

The smell of dogwoods,

Mornings at the Capital grounds,

Are sure alot of fun.
