Were you unsatisfied
Only throwing me overboard?
Must you have used the weapons
That scarred your flesh?
Did you taste my blood
As it dripped from
Your antlers?
Washed ashore
Ribs cracked open
Choking up granite
Calcified in your absence
Why
Did we build the beacon in me
If you couldn’t bear its light?
I can't afford to wait
At the altar
of your inconvenience
Holding up a mirror
That you've convinced yourself
You no longer need to look
Within
