Ashes and Echoes

Rising through pain

By Rohitha LankaPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Today, I looked back at my life.

There were many failures, mistakes, and sorrows.

I looked back at the places where my heart was hurt, and I cried.

I looked back at the places where

I gave my hand and got up.

I bit the hand that gave me food.

When my heart was hurt, there were more swollen places.

Those who were in the deepest part of my heart.

They touched my chest.

People who were once hidden and then disappeared were also there.

Those who took fire from under the water.

I saw them burning today.

In the most unbearable places,

There were places where my eyes turned red.

I felt even stronger than before. But I got up.

I knew that I had to go much further.

I learned how to smile through my tears from society.

Every moment of life. Sometimes we have to pick ourselves up just because of an experience...

Wow very painful things to see and go through but powerful to change you. Its important to reflect on our life sometimes to make us better. Awesome poem.

This was incredibly sad. It made me feel like I wanted to write a smile article, but I am holding them for my smile book. Well written but very very sad. Nicely Done!!!
