Witnessing the plethora

of bumblebee and butterfly

bouncing between

wildflower blooms

While ascending

Mount Burroughs

above the cloud cover

of August noon

At nearly 8000’

to the highest peak

I give thanks to God

for this summer summit week

Climbing with family

breathing in mountain air

watching wild goats

roaming here and there
