As The Halcyon Flies

The halcyon is a bird of peace. The prize of Peace, a bird hard sought.

In a broken world where rebellion calls

The halcyon bird of peace is sought

Armoured tanks drive through force winds

Stories of calm like olden tales

Soldiers march, souls filled with rage

Seek respite in a fallen age

In a restless world, spirits age

In a land of chaos, rebellion calls

Times of peace all olden tales

Soldiers march forward with rage

Tranquil halcyon bird is sought

In a realm of blustery winds

Fighting gale-force, blustery winds

Yearning for a forgotten-age

When all souls heard a peaceful tale

And no one heard Rebellion’s call

The halcyon’s calm was never sought

No fighting fists, nor signs of rage

***

The soldiers march, in fits of rage

Flow with the driving force of winds

The hard-won prize of peace is sought

And needed rest in Chaos’ age

In a shattered world, these rebels call,

Their weak words, an unheard tale

***

Soldiers search for Calm's lost tale

They march on, hearts filled with rage

To a world where peace does call

Onward force, through changing wind

Yearning for a golden age

The hard-fought prize of peace now sought

***

The halcyon bird of peace still sought

Tranquility an old wives’ tales

Fighting even as souls age

Marching on, pounding with rage

Their armoured hearts drive through force winds

Answering Rebellion’s call

Bird of peace still sought this age

Flies through force winds, ongoing tale

All must answer its faint call.
