Art Helped Me Imagine
And contributed to mental wellbeing

As such,
in my family or surroundings,
no one did painting.
But, I was a small kid
and had this understanding:
if I have no art to imagine,
and escape momentarily,
life can be harsh.
I will struggle with confidence
and have to rely on people
to make me feel entertained,
which can be hard,
so, I took to art.

Though my community,
encouraged academics only,
and snubbed creativity,
my intuition told otherwise.
Good studies are important,
but mental wellbeing,
is even more,
so, carry on with art,
you will not regret,
and have a happy heart.
I was convinced,
and dabbled,
in the world of creativity
since age 5 or so,
and I am 42 now.
No plan to ever quit —
for life is sweet
painted in the colors of art.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Albert Einstein
