Are You Ready to Deceive Her for Me

The room is dim.

Curtains drawn tight.

You lean forward.

Voice low, sharp.

She will ask questions.

She will not stop.

You must smile.

You must hold the lie.

I taste ash.

Words heavy on tongue.

Her face in my mind.

Her hands on mine.

You promise escape.

You promise freedom.

If I betray her.

If I tear her apart.

Cigarette smoke swirls.

Glass on the table.

Your eyes like stone.

Waiting for yes.

She gave me everything.

You give me nothing.

Yet I nod slowly.

Heart cracking.

The plan unfolds.

A letter, a call.

A meeting at dusk.

A trap in her path.

I walk to the door.

Shadows stretch.

I whisper forgive me.

And step outside.

Its over goodbye.

What a turnaround or turnoff to a relationship. They don't always work out the way they should or we want them to.

  • A great description of a bad situation
