Are You Coming Or Going?

Exits May Occur Without A Warning

Train station

Animation.

Clocks are ever-ticking,

Trains always arriving,

People perpetually departing.

.

Train stations are like hospitals in that way.

So many new arrivals.

So many departures.

.

Both the setting for joyous welcomes,

And tearful goodbyes.

Promises of forever,

Holding hands as someone cries.

They’re a venue for long-awaited reunions.

And some of life’s biggest surprises.

.

No one truly knows when their last arrival will be.

When their final departure will leave

Nor where their final destination is.

.

No one knows at all.

Life is funny that way.

She gives us many paradoxes

To ponder over and puzzle out.

Will anyone ever finally figure it out?

. . .
