Are We Not The Hunters...?
A Tribute Piece To The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

This poem is dedicated not only for the missing and murdered Indigenous Women who we've lost... but also for the ones we still have with us.
I pray for you... Mothers, Sisters, Aunties and Daughters... ALL of you are sacred to us. I pray for your protection, that No More will be stolen.
WE as a Nation cannot prosper, without YOU.

ARE WE NOT THE HUNTERS...?
WOMAN...
YOU HAVE THE BLOOD OF MANY FATHERS...
WARRIORS, HUNTERS, PROTECTORS... MANY.
ARE YOU NOT ANGRY? I HEAR NO WAR CRY...
YOU BRINGS LITTLE ONES TO ALL OUR TRIBES
THEY BECOME MOTHERS, FATHERS, WARRIORS
WOMAN...
YOU ARE WHAT MAKES THE TRIBES GROW.
BUT WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? I DO NOT SEE YOU
NOT THE MISSING ONES...
NOT THE DEAD ONES...
YOU.
WHERE DID YOU GO?
NOT SITTING BY THE FIRE...
NO WAR PAINT ON YOUR FACE...
NO BOW OR ARROWS
DO YOU NOT HAVE FIRE IN YOUR EYES?
MANY HAVE GONE NOW...
LOST...
SPIRITS, WENT AWAY.
MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS, SISTERS
STOLEN...
HUNTED LIKE DEER...
BUT ARE WE NOT THE HUNTERS?
FIND YOUR FIRE, WOMAN...
PAINT YOUR FACE!
RAISE YOUR SPEAR...
FATHERS, BROTHERS, TRIBES...
WE WILL FIGHT
BESIDE YOU.
