The warmth of the sun in winter

The bitter rain finally ceased

Giving way to the silent snow

Swirling in the hidden meadows

Far beneath it’s icy layers

The winds whip

Bend the bow

Branches crack and fall

Darkness enters the frozen land

Icicles cling to tired branches

As the moon watches from above

Hours pass

Giving way the the sun

Breaking through the horizon

Melting icicles

Little foot prints

Tell the tale of creature’s

Meandering through the snow

My eyes take in the beauty

Of the winter meadow

But I feel the warmth of the winter sun

How I’ve longed for this
