Apple Picking Experience

A family time to cherish

Not very far from home,

there is a mountain town

famous for apple orchards.

In the peak of autumn.

its doors open for a few weeks,

and you can have U-pick.

I had enjoyed it years back,

never with kids,

so, we took them

to have the harvest experience,

to create memories.

There were thousands of trees

to choose from.

We ate off the plants,

filled our paper bag.

So many apples were lying

rotting, on the ground,

it was sad,

we know hunger is rampant.

@Seema

Apples were small,

many had worms,

climate crisis is surely,

wreaking havoc.

I shared the farm apples,

with friends and neighbors.

It’s always nice to support

local agriculture,

and the hardworking farmers

Apple picking is fun for I remember my cousin had an apple orchard and I would help pick apples to sell or to make into applesauce or apple butter. It is a shame at times how the ones that fell on to the ground go to rot but some do get picked or raked up and fed to some animals or used for some kind of fertilizer.
