Apple Picking

It remains a happy memory

Apple picking @Seema

It's the peak of summer

but autumn is imminent,

and soon festive vibes

will show up everywhere.

Among the many joys of fall,

there is apple picking.

I have savored this experience

of apple abundance, only once,

and it was such much fun,

so, let me reminisce.

Miles away from our place,

in the remote part,

driving through oak woods,

there was a small town—Julian,

with many apple orchards.

We paid $10 and they handed,

a paper bag to be filled.

We walked among,

opulent trees of all cultivars,

ate fruits fresh off the trees,

and filled the bags.

There were apples on canopies,

and piles on the ground too,

as if I was surplus heaven,

maybe better than Eden garden.

My bag filled with the fruits,

crunchy, sweet, tart, savory,

the apple picking remains

a happy fall memory.

Apple picking is fun. One just has to be careful and not find wormy ones. Some apples look fine from the outside, but one bite will "Yuck". Thanks for the memory.
