Anxiety Whispers

Poetry by Pablo Angel Castro

Looking out my window

Gloominess of expectations

Shadows of success

Present reservations

Anxiety whispers

What must be accomplished

I find myself stuck

Impasse at preparations

Original artwork by Pablo Angel Castro

I have fooled many

Who think I am wise

Who think I am great

It’s all a disguise

I wish I could move

Paralyzed by their trust

Paralyzed by responsibility

It’s all too much

First steps forward

Escaping my cell

Dungeons and prisons

It all feels like hell

Moving on towards

Achieving my goal

Is it success I seek,

or to free my soul

Motivation is seeping

As light peeks from dawn,

or was it from dusk

It will soon be all gone
