anxiety rents a room

and also missing a shoe

By Jeffrey SparksPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

I would have bet I could not be found

walking around in someone else’s shoe

but the anxiety that lived in my head

came downstairs, asked to rent a room

proceeded calmly to introduce himself

while tapping one shoe on the floor

after meeting, things became fleeting

because now I don’t know if I am him

or he is me or who I was before

if you see someone out of place

it might be the the part of me

that serves as my angst

it could be me or him

honestly I have no clue, I just know

we are both missing a shoe
