fear of flowers

do you remember the way it felt

when we were young?

the petals of human flesh blooming

opening up to the world

as we opened our eyes

and looked into it

your flower bloomed,

blush as a rush of blood

to the head,

instantaneous vertigo

don't touch me with your rotten

flesh, petals of innocence

horrific when you move and still

as a body in an open casket

your petals join at the eye

regardless if he loves me

or loves me not.

you just stare me down,

unblinking. i am helpless.

This is such a good poem!! I really like the use of line breaks and the phrase “Instantaneous vertigo”! Fantastic job!!
