Another Saturday Night

Keep it cool… keep it cool…

By Jeffrey Pipes GuicePublished 4 years ago 2 min read

It’s a Saturday night...

You been waitin’ all week...

Just got paid on Friday...

Waitin’ on a winnin’ streak...

You planned your best side girl...

And she’s a super freak...

She’s gonna do you right...

Servin’ her sweet shuga treat...

Before you leave your shift...

Your boss calls you in to talk...

He gives you da pink slip...

He says it’s time for you to walk...

You ask what the problem is...

Then you both begin to squawk...

He says your attitude is bad...

You want to scratch him like a hawk...

Don’t lose your head...

Don’t be a fool...

You got dis one...

Keep it cool... Keep it cool...

No sense in arguin’ will the fool...

You decide to walk away from there...

There’s plenty of better jobs...

So why the hell should you care...

He ain’t no better than you...

You never liked the frickin’ jerk...

Who the hell does he think he is...

Besides, you’ll find some better work...

You drive off to catch your chill...

You put your thoughts in a better place...

It’s your Saturday night off...

Your baby’s gonna’ rock you outta’ space...

You turn the corner on her street...

You thinkin’ about her sexy tights...

But in your rear view mirror...

You notice some flashin’ blue lights...

Don’t lose your head...

Don’t be a fool...

You got dis one...

Keep it cool... Keep it cool...

As you pull over to assess the situation...

To hear what the man has to say...

You promise yourself to stay calm...

To keep any troubles far away...

The man asks ‘Do you know why I stopped you?’

You reply ‘No sir’ and offer a shrug...

You add ‘I’m just trying to pick up my baby...

And get some Saturday night baby love.’

The officer gives you a smile...

And you return it with a grin...

He asks you for your license...

And then asks “Do you understand the trouble you’re in?”

He goes on to say your taillight...

Looks like it might have a short...

He returns your license and says “Have it checked out!”

He walks off chuckling with a weird snort...

Don’t lose your head...

Don’t be a fool...

You got dis one...

Keep it cool... Keep it cool...

You let out a sigh of relief...

And wipe the sweat off your brow...

You just want to get to your baby...

And get you some lovin’ just about now...

Your day doesn’t have to be totally ruined...

And neither does the rest of your night...

Sometimes it’s best to keep your wits about you...

And get with your lady to make it alright...

Don’t lose your head...

Don’t be a fool...

You got dis one...

Keep it cool... Keep it cool...
