Announcing The Book I Conceived
Finishing the book proposed for the grant I received
My word for this year, twenty-twenty-six
is 'Publish'! I have a book due this year
I have been working on edits, and fix
the time to finish edits with some fear
~
The fear of my first art grant proposal
I never once thought that I would get it
Win made it a bad idea to fizzle
Working on it has made me have to sit
~
Sit still and write everyday, sometimes night
Most day and night, I think about the book
The sky is looking so bright, when I write
This could be one of the last books I cook
~
The message is: a book I'm publishing
No time to do much else and no fishing!

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
