And, we disappear

My favorite picture of us

Can’t seem to throw it out

Every time I try to

I am suddenly filled with doubt

How can I throw it away?

It’s the only thing I have

Proof our love was all that mattered

Before the foundation cracked

They say time heals all wounds

And it’s been a long time

As much as I have fought it

You’ve faded from my mind

Everything is different

The memories aren’t clear

The picture is gone now

And just like that

We disappear
