And Then My Soul Kisses Me With
...

My soul is housed in the nucleus of my brain-
While my physical form rests-
My soul plays a few of hard level games of sudoku-
To prepare for whatever is to happen once the body is no longer permitted sleep-
-
The day is in a hurry to weaken the body-
The body feels so far from the four walls it loves most-
The soul must adorn the body with the homes that dwell in its’ compound-
-
Loneliness begins to crowd me-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The most belly aching laughs I’ve shared with my family-
-
Boredom is sprouting up weeds taller than Kilimanjaro all around me-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The best nights I’ve had with my collectives of friends-
-
Dehydration cracks my lips-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The sea waving under my body-
-
Silence disables my ears-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The melodies and rhythms of the musically gifted-
-
Negativity challenges me to a duel-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The graffiti that lights up the dreariest alley-
-
Reality is maiming me-
And then my soul kisses me with-
The reels of a film, the seasons of a series, and the pages of a novel-
-
Routine paralyzes me-
And then my soul kisses me with-
A poem
