And Then

A moment in time for me and my husband...

By Jenn NardiPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Place your hand on mine,

Same size all around must mean something,

But maybe not this time,

A few more years to ring,

A few more songs to sing,

The wind will change for me and you,

And we’ll meet again,

With all we’ve been through,

I’ll call you just a friend.

AND THEN I saw you,

Standing there next to your car,

Dusting a grey shirt, shoes looking new,

So close and yet so far,

You couldn’t see me through the glass,

Panic rushed over me, I almost ran,

It would have been so easy to get away fast,

You took the time to dress and plan,

This was more than I imagined,

Was there time to get away?

AND THEN you saw me and grinned,

Everything melted instantly, I think I’ll stay.
